Toby Prest is a British architecture student and researcher based in London. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s in architecture at the Bartlett. His work primarily focuses on examining the relationship between the materials we build with and the socioecological impact they have on the environment and the landscapes they come from. His projects have been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in London and the UIA World Congress of Architecture in Copenhagen in 2023. He received the BSA Retrofit Prize 2023, the Forterra Drawing Prize 2022, the Nagami Scholarship 2022, the History and Theory prize and the Enironmental Concepts and Tools Prize 2021. In 2023 his thesis proposal of a Woodland Street Manifesto for London was awarded the Bartlett Medal. Toby is actively involved in academia since 2020, and has served as a Archivist, and Widening Participation Tutor at both the Bartlett and De Monfort University. His work has received recognition through diverse media such as Dezeen.
